Jacob Mathias Egeberg is a Copenhagen-based designer working across sculptural furniture, interiors and functional objects. His work is known for colour, industrial materials and an unconventional approach to domestic and retail environments, turning everyday objects into carriers of narrative, attitude and spatial identity.

Born in 1992, Egeberg completed his Master of Arts at the Royal Danish Academy in 2020. His practice uses industrial techniques and materials to produce functional objects as storytelling devices, challenging expectations within contemporary design and moving Danish design away from inherited restraint toward a more theatrical, expressive vocabulary.

Egeberg's profile includes the interior of Henrik Vibskov's Copenhagen flagship store, the solo exhibition Natural Futurism at Etage Projects, and press features or listings across Wallpaper, Frame, Elle Decor, Vogue Scandinavia, Hypebeast, Sight Unseen, Parnass, Euroman and KubaParis. This combination of gallery, retail and editorial contexts places his work between collectible design, spatial installation and experimental domestic objects.

For Project Materia, Egeberg brings a practice rooted in industrial processes, sculptural identity and spatial storytelling. His work is relevant to the project because it treats material experimentation as a way to produce both function and atmosphere.

Monolith Table

Matek™ (recycled materials)

A sculptural lounge table with a monolithic, brutalist form language.

A sculptural lounge table defined by bold geometric volumes and a monolithic brutalist form language.

Constructed from recycled materials, the textured surface carries a stone-like expression inspired by weathered travertine and architectural reliefs, balancing raw tactility with refined minimalism.
