What to expect from the 2026 cohort during Copenhagen's design week - the pieces, the partners and the through-line of the edition.
3 Days of Design is the moment Copenhagen turns into a design city in earnest. For three days in June the studios, galleries and showrooms open at once, and the city's design culture sits on the surface rather than behind it.
The 2026 edition, in short
Project Materia's 2026 edition is presented as a single cohort working in Matek - Mater's circular composite of coffee husks, sawdust and recycled e-waste plastic. Nine artists, designers and architects each took the material in a different direction. The pieces are produced as limited numbered editions and presented in collaboration with Tableau CPH and Edition Solenne.
What is on view
Across the presentation the cohort includes Cathrine Raben Davidsen's PARSIFAL folding screen, Sophie Dries' turned Stria candleholders, Willem van Hooff's Archive Cabinet, Lea Colombo's ATOM Stool, Onno Adriaanse's Pyrite Side Table, Jacob Egeberg's Monolith Table, Forever Studio's Patos stools, Filippo Andrighetto's Space Invader and Oliver Thygesen's Rooted.
Some of the pieces travel onward after Copenhagen. Sophie Dries' Stria candleholders, for example, continue to Paris in September for Paris Design Week (venue to be confirmed). Project Materia's editorial coverage of each work continues in this journal across the year.
How to see the work
